  Cancellations
MPI strives to be as flexible and considerate to our players as possible. For this reason, in most cases, if a cancellation can be done without adversely affecting the plans of a tournament, we will do everything we can to allow the cancellation. If the cancellation is before the cancellation deadline, you may use the entry fee you purchased towards any other upcoming tournament.

If your cancellation is after the cancellation deadline, you may cancel without losing your entry fee so long as you are able to find someone to replace you.

If your cancellation is after the deadline and you can not find a replacement, you will forfeit your entry and loss your entry fee. We will not issue any refunds UNLESS the tournament dates are changed or the tournament is cancelled.

  Legal Notes
By entering this tournament, sending payment, filling out the online order form, or playing in the tournament you fully agree that you have read, fully understood, and fully agreed to each of the following legally binding statements.
  • MPI is not responsible for payment lost in the mail.
  • You agree not to cheat, be verbally abusive to opponents after they have warned you to stop, be abusive to representatives or supervisors, racist, break any laws or contracts which you are already bound by, or purposefully prevent other players from playing in the tournament.
  • If you are caught cheating, you will immediately be removed from the tournament, be restricted from all future Official MPI Canasis tournaments (up to 10 years) at Canasis, and will be forced to resign any prizes you may have won in this tournament.
  • You can be held liable for up to $500 USD for purposefully attempting to cheat.
  • If you continue to swear or be verbally abusive to your opponents after they have asked you to stop twice, you will immediately be removed from this tournament and risk banishment from Canasis.
  • If you fail to abide by all of the statements in this agreement, you will not be entitled to a refund, credit, or other compensation, regardless of whether you lose, win, or are removed from the tournament.
  • If the tournament is cancelled, a full refund or credit towards future tournaments will be issued, MPI will choose which to do.
  • If the tournament is postponed, a full refund or credit towards future tournaments will be issued, MPI will choose which to do.
  • The maximum amount MPI will be liable to you is the price of your tournament entry fee. For no reason whatsoever will you hold MPI liable for any amount greater than that.
  • Our official MPI Canasis tournaments guidelines leave room for an average amount of technical problems, but in no way will MPI be responsible for loss as a result of your partner, inability to play reasonably well due to ISP or other technical problems for which you are responsible for.
  • If Canasis fails to operate reasonably well during the tournament for many players, MPI reserves the right to postpone the tournament or a portion of the tournament to a later date.
  • If Canasis fails to operate reasonably well (reasonably meaning approximately as well as the average player can use Canasis), and you did not warn MPI of this fact even though you could have known about it in advance, you will not be issued a refund or credit.
  • If Canasis fails to operate reasonably well (reasonably meaning approximately as well as the average player can use Canasis), but there was no way to predict it, we will issue a refund or credit, MPI will decide which.
  • You agree that, if unusual problems occur, MPI may choose that you play best out of 5 sets instead of best out of 3 to ensure that both players are still given a fair chance to compete.
  • Canasis and this tournament is for entertainment only. You are paying the entry fee specifically for entertainment value that you receive from playing, not for the chance to win the prizes. Prizes are not the primary purpose of this tournament, they are used, at the most, as an incentive to convince players to play in the tournament for entertainment.
  • For the winners of prizes only, we reserve the right to disclose name and state to the government should it be required by law. We also reserve the right to disclose the name and state of winners to the public if the law requires us to, or if a situation arises where the general public does not have faith that the winning nickname is actually a real person. These are last resorts, and if need to do this, we will obtain the permission of the winners first or allow them to cancel prizes and receive a full refund.
  • This tournament is void where prohibited by law. You agree to hold MPI Canasis harmless if you are breaking any of your laws by participating in this tournament. It is your responsibility to determine if you are allowed to participate in this tournament.
  • MPI reserves the right to reject any entry to a tournament for any reason, including mistakes in sending payments, late payments, bad reputation for cheating or being abusive, violating any contract or law, or any other reason MPI chooses. When someone is refused entry, we will not process their entry fee and will not accept payment from them.
